Next meeting Monday, June 29

At this meeting we'll be demonstrating a new release of Water 6 (v0.4) featuring user dialogs and the new Water editor, which is itself written in Water 6. Water 6 programs run in a browser, similar to JavaScript programs, and can take advantage of HTML, CSS, and plug-ins for implementing the user interface. But unlike JavaScript, Water programs can run stand-alone and off-line. The programs instantly load and incrementally update the page through a uniform DOM, giving them the responsiveness of native apps.

Future topics: Pattern matching with Water; Latest extensions to the Water language; Water in eCommerce applications; new application examples of Water; using Water to prototype advanced web services; using Water to simplify the use of XFORMS, Water Execution Kinds, Water in simulation applications, expanded Web services capabilities, and advanced Water training.
